Botswana Wildlife Safari

Botswana is one of a few African countries which has managed to maintain its exclusivity and vast reserve areas of untouched wilderness. We explore the northern game parks and wildlife reserves of Chobe and Moremi and enjoy the serene beauty of the Okavango Delta - a huge freshwater oasis in the Kalahari desert. Also included is an off-beat houseboat stay on the Okavango Panhandle and the raging 'Smoke that Thunders', Victoria Falls.

Okavango Houseboat & Caprivi Strip
From Maun, our journey begins at the Okavango Panhandle, a geological fault that restricts the meandering river until its release into the main delta. Here we enjoy the unique experience of a three-night stay on a houseboat spending the days cruising the vast reed beds and lagoons. There's also plenty of time for walks, village visits, bird-watching and fishing and on one day you may like to take the opportunity to visit the famous rock paintings at Tsodilo Hills.

'Vic Falls', Chobe & Moremi Reserves
After traversing Namibia's Caprivi Strip, we reach Livingstone, the adventure capital of Zambia. We'll visit the raging 'Smoke that Thunders', Victoria Falls, and have an option to safari in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in search of White Rhinoceros. During the next 5 days we'll explore the wildlife parks of Chobe and Moremi, a lush landscape of forests and flood plains. Giraffe, buffalo and large herds of elephant are commonly sighted, as well as predators such as lion, leopard, jackal and hyena.

Into the Okavango Delta
Finally we head into the Okavango Delta itself. A huge freshwater oasis in the Kalahari Desert, hundreds of species are attracted to this fertile, freshwater basin including elephant, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, kudu and innumerable birds. We'll spend our time here among the plentiful game, exploring by safari vehicle. Hippo, crocodile, red lechwe and numerous other animals as well as birdlife are normally easy to spot.
