| Day 2 | Scottsdale - Sedona - Williams | Scottsdale - Sedona - Williams : As you drive through the Sonoran Desert, you arrive at Montezuma Castle National Monument. Some 800 years ago, the Sinagua Indians carved this 5-story apartment out of the cliff. Why they did so remains a mystery as is their sudden disappearance. Next is picturesque Sedona where you saddle up for a rip-roarin 4WD Jeep adventure into spectacular Dry Creek Basin. At the old Van Deren Cabin, learn what it was really like to be a cowboy in the Old West. A drive through spectacular Oak Creek Canyon leads to historic Williams, named after famous mountain man "Old Bill" Williams. It's also the last outpost on famous Route 66. (Full Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Holiday Inn |
| Day 3 | Williams - Grand Canyon Railway - Grand Canyon National Park | Williams - Grand Canyon Railway - Grand Canyon National Park : Guard your wallets and purses! The infamous Cataract Creek Gang, as lowly a group of varmints that ever rode the range, has come to town to rob vacationers. But standing in their way is Marshall John B. Goodmore (the B stands for "B" good or "B" gone). Suddenly guns blaze and you climb aboard the historic Grand Canyon Railway, passing through majestic Ponderosa pines, the high desert and the Kaibab National Forest. Listen to tall tales and folklore about the area, but keep your eyes peeled. This is still the Wild West, and low-down train robbers have been known to attack the train from time to time. Nothing on earth can prepare you for the Grand Canyon one of the natural wonders of the world. You can take tons of photos, hike the Bright Angel Trail, listen to rangers or explore Grand Canyon Village. If you're truly adventurous, take an optional helicopter or fixed-wing flight over the canyon for a once-in-a-lifetime eagle-eye view. As the sun sets, and shadows dance mysteriously in the Grand Canyon, join your Tour Director for an unforgettable walk along the rim. (Full Breakfast) Hotel: National Park Lodges |
| Day 4 | Grand Canyon - Monument Valley - Lake Powell | Grand Canyon - Monument Valley - Lake Powell : Fred Grof was so stunned by the spectacular beauty of the sunrise over the Grand Canyon, he wrote a symphony. Here you can browse the Historic Cameron Trading Post and shop for Southwest Native American art including world-famous Navajo silver-and-turquoise jewelry. Next stop: the Code Talkers Exhibit at Kayenta. The Navajos were one of America's greatest secret weapons in WWII. Because their coded messages were so vital to victory, GIs were ordered to protect the "Wind Talkers" with their lives. Monument Valley in southwest Utah is a favorite location for movie directors like John Ford. As you bounce along the valley floor in an open-air vehicle, you can almost see John Wayne leading a column of U.S. Cavalry along the magnificent buttes and mesas.
