Day 2 Old Quebec (B) Spend a day in Old Quebec and immerse yourself in its dramatic history while strolling through the narrow streets. Enjoy a guided walking tour of this beautiful city and explore the old and modern city highlights. En route to the Charlevoix region, we will stop at Montmorency Falls, one of Quebec's most spectacular historic and natural sights, as well as Canyon Ste-Anne where you can get your heart pumping with an optional zip line experience.
Day 3 Hautes-Gorges National Park (B) Travel to Hautes-Gorges National Park to enjoy spectacular deep valleys, formed some 12,000 years ago, which tower over the Malbaie River. These hanging valleys are especially impressive from below as we can choose from an array of activities. You may wish to join the guides on a strenuous hike to the famous Acropolis (summit) or walk along the Malbaie River.
Day 4 Tadoussac (B) After breakfast, we venture to Tadoussac, one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Located at the mouth of the Saguenay fjord, it has been a meeting place for thousands of years. Visit the Marine Mammals Interpretation Center, see the sand dunes and walk along the fjord.
Day 5 St Lawrence River (B,L) Set off on a day-long kayak expedition from the flat rocks of Les Bergeronnes with our professional guides. Whales of the St. Lawrence abound in this area and you have good chances to observe those beautiful animals up close. Belugas, Minke, Fin, Humpback and Blue whales are regularly seen during the season.
Day 6 Saguenay National Park (B) Today?s hike will take us to the Parc National du Saguenay on the north shore of the fjord. An early morning start will take us to the trailhead, some 13 km up the fjord. Along the cliffs we join the trail and hike back to Tadoussac, enjoying beautiful vistas of the area. You have time to enjoy optional activities, such as a trip on a float plane or a whale watching tour.
