High Arctic Explorer

Journeying from Resolute to Resolute, we intend to explore in the Canadian Arctic: Lancaster Sound, Grise Fjord, Beechey Island, Cape Hay Migratory Bird Sanctuary and Pond Inlet. In Greenland, we plan to visit Qaanaaq and Cape York. This is the expedition to choose, if you want to explore the higher latitudes of the Canadian and Greenlandic Arctic.

Note:

  • Weather, ice or other conditions may require that changes be made to our itinerary and shore excursions.
  • These voyages offer optional kayaking for $395 per person. As space is limited, please reserve when you book your expedition.
  • In conjunction with this expedition, you must purchase our round-trip charter air transportation from Ottawa to Resolute. The cost per person is approximately $1,650 per person. The final price will appear on your invoice at time of booking.

    Shipboard Accommodation: The Akademik Sergey Vavilov adventure ship is equipped with Zodiacs for ocean level exploration and kayaks for optional paddling among ice floes in Spitsbergen and Greenland. Akademik Sergey Vavilov is powered by a 5,000 kilowatt diesel twin engine. Bow and stern thrusters provide maximum maneuverability, while a shallow draft permits passage through channels impassable by larger ships.
