This odyssey is for those wanting to discover the many attractions of East and Southern Africa. It mixes fascinating local cultures with the best opportunities to view wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Almost three months of new and exciting experiences that may change your life forever!

Itinerary:

Day 1 Start Nairobi. 2-8 Visit Mt Kenya, Samburu N.P. Buffalo Springs; camel trek Rumuruti; to Lake Nakuru N.P. 9-15 Lake Baringo; into Uganda, optional rafting on the Nile and Lake Bunyonyi. 16-22 Continue to Rwanda, optional visit to the gorillas and Akagera N.P. 23-29 Into Tanzania, ferry across Lake Victoria; visit Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. 30-36 Across Tanzania, via Arusha and Moshi, to Stone Town, Zanzibar. 37-43 Three days to enjoy Zanzibar. Into Zambia, optional three day trek over mountains to Kande. 44-50 Relax at Kande beach, Lake Malawi; to South Luangwa N.P. 51-57 Two nights houseboat Lake Kariba; three days in Livingstone at Victoria Falls with many optional activities. 58-64 Into Botswana; Chobe N.P. and Okavango Delta. Into Namibia. 65-71 Visit Etosha N.P. and Twyfelfontein; drive along Skeleton Coast. 72-78 Two days for optional activities in Swakopmund; to Sossusvlei and Kolmanskop. Into South Africa via Fish River Canyon. 79-83 To Orange River, Citrusdal, Stellenbosch and Cape Town. 84 End Cape Town.

Mode of travel: A semi-participatory camping overland safari in a specialist overland vehicle. Some long hard days, but an incredible amount to do and see along the way. Passengers may contribute to the itinerary up until 2 months before departure.
Group size: Min. 12, max. 18 plus 2 driver/leaders and a cook.
Accommodation: Approx. 5 nights guesthouses/hostel, 2/3 nights houseboat and 72 nights camping in a mix of organized sites and bushcamps (accommodation on Zanzibar not included). See Trip Notes for further details.
