Day 1Depart USAUSA / Kuching, Malaysia: Your fascinating journey begins as you board Malaysia Airlines' flights.
Day 2KuchingArrive Kuching: Our representative will meet you at the airport and escort you to your deluxe hotel - Hilton Hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner.
Day 3KuchingKuching: This morning discover the charms of this captivating city established by Sir James Brooke, the first White Rajah of the province of Sarawak. See buildings dating back to the days of the White Rajahs. Visit the Sarawak Museum, displaying an excellent collection of Bornean ethnological and archaeological artifacts. (B, L, D)
Day 4KuchingKuching: Today you will take an tour to Bako National Park were you will see proboscis monkeys, slivered languors (leave monkeys), long-tailed macaque monkeys, wild boar, flying squirrels and monitor lizards as well as hundreds of different bird species and some fascinating plant life. Tonight, experience the gracious hospitality of the locals as you dine at a local seafood restaurant. (B,L, D)
Day 5BatangKuching/Batang Ai: Venture into the heart of Borneo for Batang Ai. Journey through rural Sarawak, passing pepper gardens, cocoa and rubber plantations. En route, visit a colorful native market where a variety of jungle produce are on display. Visit a pepper garden and view wild orchids and several species of pitcher plants. Upon arrival at the Batang Ai reservoir, proceed by boat to your unique resort hotel, surrounded by mountains and unspoiled tropical rainforest. Hilton Batang Ai Resort. (B,L,D)
Day 6Longhouse ExcursionLonghouse Excursion: After breakfast at the hotel, you will board native longboats to go across the lake to a native longhouse. The Ibans will sound their gongs and perform their traditional war dance in full ceremonial regalia. Enjoy a traditional and cultural exchange with the Ibans and their families. You will be awed by the communal lifestyle they share in the longhouse. Lunch in the longhouse. If you wish, you can do a short jungle walk after lunch. Return to Hilton Batang Ai Resort. (B,L,D)
Day 7KuchingBatang Ai / Kuching: After breakfast, you will be driven back to Kuching. En Route, stop at a Lachau, a small village where you may observe barter trading by the natives. The balance of the day is at leisure. You have last chance to wander through the narrow streets and observe local craftsman at work. (B,L)
Day 8SandakanKuching/Sandakan: A morning flight brings you Sandakan, home to one of the only four remaining Orangutan sanctuaries in the world and proceed to Sabah hotel for check in. Balance of the day is free at leisure. Dinner tonight is at a famous local seafood restaurant. (B, L, D).
Day 9Sandakan City TourSepilok Orang Utan Tour / Sandakan City Tour: After breakfast, proceed by overland from Sabah Hotel to Sepilok, the largest Orang Utan rehabilitation center in the world. Trek through the rainforest on wooden board walks to the feeding platform to observe the feeding of the orphaned Orang utans. continue to the Nature center for a video on the rehabilitation programme. Lunch at an English Tea House before proceeding on a tour around Sandakan city. Visit a Chinese temple which offers a spectacular view of the Sandakan town and bay, water village and the central market. After tour, transfer back to Sabah Hotel. Free at leisure and overnight at Sabah Hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 10Kota KinabaluSandakan/Kota Kinabalu: After breakfast, check out from Sabah Hotel and transfer to Sandakan Airport and board a short flight to the tropical paradise of Kota Kinabalu, nestled on the shores of the South China Sea and fronting majestic Mount Kinabalu. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely drive into the countryside, passing by rice fields and megaliths. Visit a typical village of the "Kadazan", Sabah's largest ethnic group. At the Monsopiad Cultural Village, meet with the descendant of the famous "Monsopiad", known as the greatest headhunter warrior in early centuries and see his collection of skulls. Proceed to local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, visit the Sabah State Mosque, the Sabah Foundation building, Chinese Temple, a local market and to Signal Hill for a panoramic view of the city and the scenic islands. Day 11Kota KinabaluKota Kinabalu: Today you are free to explore Kota Kinabalu on your own. You may choose to take an optional tour to Kota Kinabalu National Park. The jagged granite peaks of Mt. Kinabalu towers above one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world. Nominated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Kinabalu Park is a natural wonder that offers day visitors a glimpse into the fascinating and often unique world of plant and animal life within the park. The oak and chestnut forest at park headquarters gives way to lowland dipterocarp forest at Poring on the eastern boundary. Enjoy a short trek through the rainforest and witness life in the treetops as you walk along the 100ft high Canopy Walkway (If closed, it will be replaced with a visit to the Tropical Garden). Take a short trek at one of the mountain trails and visit the Mountain Garden after lunch. (B, L, D)
Day 12Kuala LumpurKota Kinabalu/Kuala Lumpur: Take a morning flight to Kuala Lumpur, the bustling capital of Malaysia. Check-in JW Marriott. On an afternoon tour get acquainted with the city's surprising architectural splendors set amidst lush greenery. Visit the impressive Jamek Mosque, the National Museum and the King's Palace. See Chinatown and stop at a local craft market. (B, L, D)
